When is the fine line crossed?

So when I was younger, I learned a very valuable lesson from Thumper (Bambi's bestie) "if you can't say anything nice, don't say nothing at all". Today I question the fine line between having a valid opinion, of which everyone is entitled to have, and just being nasty in the claim of 'honesty'.

I was lucky enough to learn the harsh lesson in Italy. I was sharing my 'opinion' and my dad told me that I can't just say 'I'm just being honest' and expect people to be OK with my nastiness in my 'opinion'! That was a harsh burn of honesty to me!

I am a firm believer that today's information sharing tools like these words, are based upon someones opinion rather than fact. But whether it be social media or 'official' media it is all painting an image to the society without having a complete understanding of the background.

Gossip is idle talk or rumour, especially about the personal or private affairs of others; the act of is also known as dishing or tattling.

How do you feel if someone forms an opinion of you from a snippet that they have heard? I know that I am NOT able to change much about this but hey whats the harm in trying to make a better place for our future children? I know that there is a movement of women standing together, which I am totally loving, women who empower other women, but I think also men should empower women and women support men in return. I mean that is fair right? Can we all stand together?
