Lets talk about self-love and self-hate. In a world of social media and showing off we are always comparing ourselves to others and concerning ourselves with what others think of us. But, truth be told, we are the worst critics on ourselves not other people. While we are killing ourselves to be as good they are doing the same to someone or something else. People judge and ridicule us so much less than we do it to ourselves.
Don’t get me wrong I am fully aware that as humans we need to push ourselves, it his human nature for us to strive harder to achieve greatness. But are we going too far? I myself beat myself up when I mess up. Also am consistently dissecting a situation where I can point out any and every fault in myself. I also have the habit of comparing myself to others.

Just to unpack that, I try to show people my absolute best life. Apart from my family and my partner no one sees the crappy parts, I mean who wants to I’m sure they don’t! No one knows about the crippling anxiety I feel most days and the struggle to breathe that comes with. Because I smile through it. Nor do they know the multiple days I struggle to get out of bed because I put the extra sparkle on my face (thank lord for highlighter) and chuck on a bright and crazy outfit only to show my absolute best self. So why don’t I admit others do the same bloody thing!
Majority of the anxiety and crappyness that I feel comes from myself – why are we so hard on ourselves. Something great was said to me recently. Growing up we were always told to treat others how we wish to be treated. How about we flip that on its head and treat ourselves the way we would treat someone else. You wouldn’t tell someone else they’re stupid, nor would you pick on them for every small fault so why do it to yourself?
Just to leave you with some food for though - Listening to a podcast by Tiff Hall the other day a great aspect that I pulled from it was that thoughts ARE'T facts. Just because we think something doesn't mean its true so lets not take it as the truth!
