We all hear it we all talk about it but do we really understand it? Work/life balance. I sure as hell don’t! Haha. Wikipedia explains it as ‘Work–life balance is a concept including the proper prioritization between work (career and ambition) and lifestyle (health, pleasure, leisure, family).’

So we all work to have a good life, for ourselves and our family. I was talking to my partner and I worked out I have been working nearly half my life already, crazy to think. I digress I work to ensure I can afford nice things, enjoy holidays and spoil the people around me.

I am a stickler for a plan and it can often be my downfall but after all ‘if you fail to plan you plan to fail’ right? I think the best way to overcome the’ ‘lack of time’ is to organise how to utilise it the best way.

Let’s get technical.. haha this is a rarity for me.. there are 168 hours in a week 38 used at work (for the lucky ones) and 49 allocated for the average human sleeping. This leaves us with a whole 81 hours for activities... that’s a lot of hours.. for the ‘average working class person’

I like to write out a schedule writing down what you plan can keep you accountable. There is that pop word! It’s like when you commit to going for a run with a friend, even if you don’t feel like going you still go because you have already committed.

I am the worst for a work life balance I tend to over do myself, burn out and say I will do yoga or something to clear my mind. I wind up back in the same routine wake up, rush, work, gym, rush, overload on social media and blog before bed have a full mind for bed and have a crappy sleep.

I declare this post as a turning point (or maybe not as per my above paragraph) an opportunity to take the time for myself. Even if it’s an hour a week to do something I want to do, not something I should do that I have disguised as a want to, haha!

Who’s with me?
