It’s coming close, February 14 is just around the corner. Valentine’s Day is February 14 but less commonly known, Sweetheart Day is also celebrated on February 14.
I’m not a huge romantic. I think a dinner is more than enough and you should tell the people you love that you love them all the time not just February 14 but that’s a different story all together.
Sweetheart Day is heald annually by heartkids on this day. Heartkids is a national non for profit agency which raises the much needed funds for children and teens with congenital/childhood heart disease.
The money raised on the day goes help children, teens and adults with heart disease towards understanding, caring for and to create a fulfilling future.
Congenital/childhood heart is the largest cause of infant death in Australia but what is it? I have taken the brief explanation below from the heartkids webpage I will share the webpage at the end for you to learn more.
“Congenital heart disease incorporates a group of abnormalities of the heart and is a general name for any type of malformation of the heart, heart valves or major blood vessels which are present at birth. Defects can range from simple to complex and can occur alone or in groups, depending on how the heart has developed. “

There are many ways to raise money (not even for this charity). A small way I will be going about it this time is a morning tea in the office. With a gold coin donation people can come along, eat some goodies, chat to colleagues and after all I do love to do a little baking.
Go online see if there is anything you can do to help?
Is there a charity you would like to know more about? Ild love to hear from you!
