So it’s possibly that social media has hacked into my brain, but I have been seeing a lot more of the community aspects that Perth has to offer of late. To me I think it’s quite lovely how many opportunities we have in Perth to help out our community and those around us.
I’ll start off small, if you are like me you may go through a phone quite regularly, for me I am a klutz but some like to have the newest gadget, I can’t argue with that either. But did you know that Perth Zoo collects old unwanted phones? They use the phones to raise money for primate conservation. Just pop down to the Zoo they can give you a recycling bag or you can deliver right to them. I mean you are donating and you get a trip to the Zoo. What’s not to love?
I recently came across a group called ‘No Limits Perth’ a non for profit group based in Perth assisting those going through a crisis. Be it domestic violence, homelessness, new comers to Perth or low income earners. They support a whole range of people going through different things. The great thing about 'No Limits Perth' is they take donations, not only cash donations but also toys toiletries and other helpful items. To find out more the web page is below.
Last but very much not least is my current fave. Happiness Co. Happiness co recently held an event called ‘Man Enough’ to assist in removing the stigma of men speaking about their troubles. They are a solution based charity. I find it quite important, as most who read my posts would know, is that it’s about finding a solution to a problem helping to fix something rather than pointing fingers or trying to point out what needs to be fixed. Being Perth based these people are trying to inspire our community from our community to make a change in all of our lives for the better. Their webpage is below but I will just leave you with a quote from their page.
