I like to think that I am quite a 'fit and healthy' bean. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy my chocolate and chippies but I am generally pretty good with my eating and exercise.
The festive season killed my vibe a little. I generally gym every morning at 5 am before work and around 7 am on weekends (weekends is me time). Between working more hours and busy weekends since the end of October, my routine was thrown and I was exhausted. Not to mention all the delicious foods, drinks and everything else enjoyed in excess over that period. My semi toned-ness has become a wobbly mess.
I am not claiming to be a fitness or health guru, but I do think I have become a semi pro at starting over again, HAHA! I cannot count how many times I have had to start over my routine. Between injuries, which there have been many, festive seasons and pure laziness I have done it many times.
For the first week back at work my alarms went off and I happily just rolled over with the 5 more minutes idea knowing well that there wasn't another alarm set. LAZY. I set myself multiple alarms for myself with 10 minutes between the first two and 5 minutes between the next. Three alarms, silly i know but it works for me. I was once told that after you first wake up you don't achieve a 'restful sleep' for that extra 20 minutes or half an hour so there is not much point in doing so. Just pull your butt out of bed.
Another thing that helps me is having a plan. It is well known that committing to meeting someone, a friend or personal trainer, means you are less likely to bail out. I am a solo trainer mostly and can't really afford a PT so I set myself a plan, the night before, of what I am going to do so I don't have to think of it when I get there.
